About INGRID

For more than 32 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside students, educators, school leaders, and school divisions in a variety of educational roles. My career has taken me from the classroom to divisional leadership—as a middle and senior years teacher, teacher-librarian, staff development specialist, continuous improvement coach, and divisional administrator.

Each of those roles has shaped my perspective on teaching, educator learning, instructional leadership, and school improvement. Together, they have reinforced something I have come to believe deeply: meaningful improvement depends on continually strengthening the professional capacity of the educators and leaders who make it possible.

EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPES MY WORK

My professional experience spans classroom teaching, literacy instruction, curriculum implementation, assessment, educator learning, instructional leadership, school and system planning, and continuous improvement.

I hold a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Brandon University. My graduate research examined how different models of pre-service teacher education influence beginning teachers’ perceptions of their readiness for the profession. That work sparked a lasting interest in educator learning—how professional knowledge develops, how learning transfers into practice, and how schools create the conditions for educators to continue strengthening their expertise over time.

That interest has remained a consistent thread throughout my career and continues to shape how I approach professional learning, instructional leadership, and school improvement today.

HOW I APPROACH THE WORK

I believe meaningful improvement begins with listening and understanding the unique context of each school or school division.

Every partnership starts with respect for the professional knowledge, experience, and judgment that already exist within the system. My role is not to replace that expertise, but to help strengthen it through collaboration, thoughtful facilitation, evidence-informed learning, and practical support.

Whether I am facilitating school and system planning, partnering with instructional leaders, designing educator learning, or developing practical resources, I work alongside educators and leaders to build shared understanding, strengthen professional judgment, and create approaches that can be sustained beyond our work together.
